I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer my skills as an illustrator to bring to life a collection of French short stories for children.

I was an illustrator, creating visuals that perfectly complemented the enchanting tales of Verda and her adventures. Join me as I take you through the various aspects of this project, from my role and tasks to the process and final results.

Drawing upon influences from the writer, and classic children's literature and cartoons, I carefully approached each illustration.

Through detailed discussions with the writer, I gathered requests and influences, understanding the importance of creating relatable and lovable characters.

The process of bringing the illustrations to life involved a seamless combination of traditional and digital techniques.

Beginning with sketches on paper or tablet, I meticulously refined the drawings, paying close attention to capturing the essence of Verda and her world.

Once satisfied with the sketches, I moved on to vectorizing and colorizing the illustrations using industry-standard tools such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

This phase allowed me to enhance the visuals, adding vibrant colors and intricate details to make the illustrations truly captivating.

This project resulted in a collection of seven illustrations, each corresponding to a unique short story featuring Verda. 

Through the illustrations, readers are transported into Verda's world, where they can join her on her adventures.

"Verda et le Bruit du Silence" has been a refreshing project that allowed me to maintain my skills as an illustrator and my passion for multimedia art by meticulously crafting illustrations that capture the essence of the stories.
